Mémoires de Paris
I stayed in the fine hotel "Maison Champs Elysees" in Paris. The room had a very stylish and noble combination of silver fabrics and some fine decoration details in purple. I fell in love with this combination. In the fabric area of Paris - just below Montmatre - I found a brocade fabric that was pretty similar to the one in the hotel. I covered a Princess Isabella guitar with this fabric and stained the maple bridge foot, pickup, fingerboard and trussrod cover with purple color pigments. I lacquered the neck in frosted silver.
Paris was a center of education and ideas during the Age of Enlightenment. In 1828, Paris began lighting the Champs-Elysées with gas lamps. It was the first city in Europe to do so, and so earned the nickname "La Ville Lumière" or The City of Light.
